JET - Get Born IT'S no secret that JET holds an un ashamed passion for all things retro rock.

Like fellow Melbourne outfit THE CASANOVAS , Jet has turned its back on modern rock and picked up where MICK JAGGER and KEITH RIC HARDS left off.

The rock revival has endured its fair share of criticism, but Jet's debut album Get Born is easy to swallow.

The hype surrounding the band was a recipe for disaster, but it's hard to find fault on this album of 1970s-inspired rock with thumping drums and cool guitar licks.

Get Born 's first single Are You Gonna Be My Girl sounds like early ROLLING STONES , who Jet sup ported when the legendary rockers toured Australia tour in February.

Boasting 13 tracks, four of them ( Take It Or Leave It, Cold Hard Bitch, Move On and Rollover D.

J ) are taken from the band's debut vinyl-only EP release Dirty Sweet.

Rock may be the main focus, but Look What You've Done and Move On make room for two ballads.

The albums feature the session work of BILLY PRESTON, the keyboardist who is the only person to share a performing credit on a BEATLES song.

Get Born rarely skips a beat and while Jet may have dug up an old formula, it works well.
