BEING female hasn't stopped Mel bourne DJ ANGELA MAISON from following her dreams.
Maison, a dance music entre preneur, has a reputation for being one of Melbourne's finest house DJs and promoters.
Her first step came when she organised her own event called LOQUEGROOVE , where she has shared the decks with DERRICK CARTER and MARK FARINA.
The event was not only recognised locally but also internationally when UK magazine Jockey Slut named it as one of the world's Top 10 nights.
Maison also hosts a Saturday night residency at the SLAP SHACK in Melbourne.
Other achievements include her own stage at the annual SUMMADAYZE event and she recently completed a tour of Brazil after she was accepted into the RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY .
As well as DJing, Maison has branched into production under the moniker THE LITTLE BEASTIES.
The Little Beasties is the pairing of jazz and funk guitarist ANT J STEEP and Maison on vocals.
The duo has been signed to UK label MUSIC FOR FREAKS and will release an album later this year.
Maison will be at the MERCURY HOTEL on Saturday, with DMC champion DJ AGENT 86 , who will play the hotel's lounge bar.
