FRESH from a main stage performance at Byron Bay's SPLENDOUR IN THE GRASS festival, Brisbane trio SCREAMFEEDER is set for a big return.
The band will hit the road this weekend, kicking off a 13-date tour at the NORTHERN STAR HOTEL on Friday night to support the release of its new single 12345 .
The track is taken from the band's forthcoming album Take You Apart , from which several songs were previewed before the crowd at Splendour in the Grass in July.
According to the band, which celebrates 10 years in the business this year, the album's pop rock style has been stripped down to the bare essentials and was recorded with no fuss.
``A couple of takes per song, no editing, no tuning of vocals to make them sound `radio','' guitarist TIM STEWARD said.
Take You Apart will be Screamfeeder's seventh album release and Steward said the band considered it to be the best.
``We've all been through the songwriting fads and phases, having clever key changes and unexpected twists.
``This time we didn't need any of it .
simplicity and the soul beat were the keys.
'' The album will be released later this month and feature the singles Ice Patrol, I Don't Know What To Do Any More and 12345 , all of which have had airplay on TRIPLE J .
A busy tour schedule will see the band support BILLY BRAGG for two dates in Brisbane next week before playing HOMEBAKE at THE DOMAIN on December 6.
Screamfeeder will be supported by MICKYFIN from 9pm.
