TOP-SELLING US rock act LIVE will perform in Newcastle when it returns for its f th Australian tour in December.
The tour follows the release of the band's latest long-player Birds of Pray , a 13-track album that the band has described as a return to its rock roots.
Although Birds of Pray takes a step back to Live's musical beginnings, frontman and songwriter ED KOWALCZYK said he spent a lot more time working on his songwriting skills this time around.
``if I had to point to one song that shows the future of Live, it would be The Sanctity Of Dreams ; it's what I call an evolutionary song,'' Kowalczyk said.
``You can tell it's Live, but it breaks new ground''.
Live will highlight tracks from Birds of Pray when it performs at NEWCASTLE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE on December 9 during its seven-date tour.
Live rose to become one of the world's most successful rock bands of the early 1990s and it has sold more than 20 thmillion albums since it delivered its first release in 1992.
In 1994, the release of Throwing Copper cemented the band's popularity and it went on to produce hits such as Lightning Crashes, I Alone and The Dolphin's Cry .
Live will be supported by melodic guitar rock act TRAIN , which has had hits with the singles Drops of Jupiter and Calling All Angels .
