Mixed Styles Hard To Beat

EACH month, VITALBEATS attracts big crowds to the MERCURY HOTEL .

About 850 people attended last month's event and this weekend Vitalbeats will deliver another outstanding line up.

For the past 18 months, The event has been a Friday night attraction but this weekend it will sh t to Saturday night.

Organiser GEORGE PATSAN said the change is another step in the growth of Vitalbeats.

``Vitalbeats has been the forefront of electronic music in Newcastle - promoting various genres and providing a platform for local DJs to express their individual styles,'' Patsan said.

``It is the first launch on a Saturday night at the Mercury Hotel and it has managed to draw fantastic responses from diverse crowds.

'' Another launch will take place when hard trance DJs NERVOUS and PEEWEE FERRIS present a two hour set to promote the Transmission album.

Held across three rooms, Vitalbeats will feature 19 local DJs including DJ PATSAN playing live in the Main Room alongside ELECTROFUNK, SCOTT BEKER, JANAK, MATT MANDELL and newcomer FITZY .

The Front Bar will mix up a storm of funky house, tribal house and breaks from D.

U SOUL, MATTMELLA, RICHY VALENZ, BRETT OK & CHRISTIAN PURE and FALLON .

The Basement will offer hip hop and live performances by MCs AGADE and MALEEK from PHAT CHEEBA as well as DJ DEEKAY, MR FONTAINE, KAVINDA and DJs TONE, BOOGIE and WILL WOODS .
