THE DELLTONES are swinging back into summer party mode with three dates at Hunter clubs.
The boys will appear at SOLDIERS POINT BOWLING CLUB on Friday October 31, BELMONT 16 FT SAILING CLUB on Saturday, November 1 and MAITLAND CITY BOWLING CLUB on Sunday, November 2.
After taking some long- awaited time out, the band will return to the stage armed with their newest CD.
The 1984 hit album Tickled Pink has been remastered and will be released on CD for the first time, after spending the past 19 years on vinyl.
It will be available to coincide with the concerts.
The Delltones have been around since 1959 and the group's lead singer DANNY MAYERS, who lives in Elermore Vale, has been part of the line- up since 1982.
The Delltones released singles including the doo-wop hit Gee, The White Cl fs of Dover, You're The Limit , and Get A Little Dirt On Your Hands .
The group achieved its biggest hit, Come A Little Bit Closer , in January 1963, just six months after its existence was threatened by the death of lead singer NOEL WIDERBERG .
The band's revival in 1984 spurred further success with the singles Bop Till Ya Drop, Papa Oom Mow Mow, Get a Job , and the acclaimed album Tickled Pink .
The Delltones' other credits include the ADELAIDE FESTIVAL, MELBOURNE'S MOOMBAH FESTIVAL , and guest spots on the AFI AWARDS and the television drama A Country Practice .
In 1988, PEE WEE also took on a motion picture role alongside YAHOO SERIOUS in the film Young Einstein .
A string of further hits including Hangin' Five and Hey Girl, Don't Bother Me took them to 1971 when they finally disbanded after years of success.
Since then Pee Wee Wilson has kept the name strong through changing lineups and as long as Pee Wee is there, The Delltones energy remains alive.
