IN what is without doubt one of the most exciting double bills to hit Newcastle, legendary ROXY MUSIC frontman BRYAN FERRY will tour with THE PRETENDERS in early 2004.
The eight-date Australian tour will bring the pair to the NEWCASTLE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE on February 8.
Ferry is one of the originators of the new wave movement of the late 1970s, with bands such as THE CLASH, THE DAMNED, SIOUXSIE & THE BANSHEES and BLONDIE citing him as one of their biggest i luences.

His third album Let's Stick Together featured remixed and remade versions of Roxy Music hits as well as the usual assortment of covers.
He released his latest album Frantic in 2002.
The forthcoming Australian tour will cover all aspects of his career both as a soloist and with Roxy Music.
The Pretenders also boast an impressive list of past hits including Brass in Pocket, Message of Love, Don't Get Me Wrong, 2000 Miles and Middle of the Road .
Frontwoman CHRISSIE HYNDE holds a fond place in her heart for the Hunter region and Central Coast as it was during a gig at Narara in 1984 that she met her husband JIM KERR of SIMPLE MINDS.
Both Ferry and The Pretenders will perform full sets and cover all aspects of their careers.
