WHEN ON INC released its debut album The Rhythm Flavour in 2001, the local quartet won over thousands of fans around Australia with its catchy blend of funk, dance, hip hop and electronica.
The band has since undergone a few line-up changes and returned to its original moniker ON .
but Time away from the live circuit has allowed the band to work on its second album.
While the album is yet to be released, things are looking positive for the band after it picked up two gongs at last month's 1233 ABC NEWCASTLE MUSIC AWARDS .
On took out the Popular Contemporary category with the track Fortunately Everything and capped off the win when it was named Act of the Year.
The win has not only gave the band the prestigious title and a recording and publishing contract with ABC MUSIC.
On hopes to release an EP by the end of the month, followed by an album early next year.
Since forming in 2001, On has performed around Australia at festivals such as BIG DAY OUT, HOMEBAKE, THE FALLS and supported the likes of MACY GRAY .
Its debut album The Rhythm Flavour spawned the singles Paranoia, Am What I Am, Silver Girl Shuffle, Size Does Matter and Spooky .
On is made up of drummer SCOTTIE SCOTT , bassist GINA COLLINS, vocalist and guitarist AMY VEE and drummer NIC CECIRE .
Catch On performing live at THE BREWERY on Sunday.
It will return to The Brewery on New Year's Eve to support MACHINE GUN FELLATIO .
