NOVOCASTRIANS will be the first to experience the concert version of AUSTRALIAN IDOL when the national tour begins in Newcastle in January 2004.
The show's 12 finalists will perform at the NEWCASTLE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE on January 23.
The line-up for the tour includes winner GUY SEBASTIAN , runner- up SHANNON NOLL and the controversial COSIMA DE VITO.
The three will be joined by ROBERT ``MILLSY'' MILLS, LEVI KEREAMA, PAULINI CURUENAVULI, KELLY CAVUOTO, CLE MORGAN- WOOTTON, REBEKAH LA VAUNEY, MATT CHADWICK, LAUREN BUCKLEY and PETER RYAN .
Millions of Australians tuned in to uncover the country's first Australian Idol.
Overall winner Sebastian, who stole the program with his soulful renditions of classics like A Wonderful World and Over the Rainbow , will headline the upcoming tour.
Since winning the competition, Sebastian's debut single Angels Brought Me Here has become the fasting-selling Australian single in ARIA history.
His debut album Just As I Am was released last week and he will represent Australia during the WORLD IDOL event in London next week.
Promoter MICHAEL CHUGG said Sebastian and the 11 other finalists will perform individually, as a group, and in various combinations.
The tour will also take in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.
