New Tricks From Sleight of Hand

NEWCASTLE group SLEIGHT OF HAND will have plenty of introductions to make when the band performs two gigs this weekend.

As well as unleashing a collection of brand new tracks, the band will also introduce its new bass player COREY PORTER who has moved on from playing in his previous band PIMP MONEY .

Sleight of Hand frontman and songwriter BENJ LEASKE said the band was has been holed up for the past few months working on new material.

``The songs have diversified the sound somewhat to a more dynamic and melodic progression,'' Leaske said.

The new tracks include Driven, Kiss Goodbye, New Jerusalem, Song For Music and Where Beauty Lies.

On Friday night, Sleight of Hand will be joined by fellow rockers BUNSON, TIGERMOTH and newcomers MURMUR when it showcases new material at the CAMBRIDGE HOTEL .

The four-piece will also perform at the LUCKY COUNTRY HOTEL on Saturday from 9pm alongside Sydney act MEANS TO AN END and Gold Coast visitors GOLGOTHA METHOD.

The gigs will act as the perfect warm up before the band competes in the grand final of the NEWCASTLE UNIVERSITY BAND COMP at the BAR ON THE HILL on August 14.
