IT'S fair to say that things have happened quite quickly for Bris bane rock band THE BUTTER FLY EFFECT .
Formed in 2000, the four- piece released its debut album, Begins Here , on August 4 and has celebrated the release with an extensive national tour that will take the band from as far as Perth to Hobart.
The tour kicked off on a high note when it performed to a sell out crowd at Brisbane's WATERLOO HOTEL .
``It has been coming along really well,'' drummer BEN HALL said.
``We played a couple of sold out shows which was a bit of a slap in the face for us, because it just makes us realise that it's really all happening.
'' The tour will continue for almost 10 weeks and adds to a solid year of touring that the band managed to squeeze in between recording songs for its album.
As well as supporting GRINSPOON earlier this year, the Butterfly Effect has played festi vals such as the BIG DAY OUT, HOMEBAKE, FALLS FESTI VAL and a gig on the main stage at LIVID .
With the tour already looking like a success, the album is set to follow suit.
It features the band's debut hit single Crave and was mixed by TIM PARKER , who has worked with some of the biggest names in music.
``We recorded the album in Brisbane and sent it to Los Angeles to be mixed by Tim who has worked with PEARL JAM, TEARS FOR FEARS, DAVID BOWIE, JIMMY PAGE ... everyone!``We had sent our first single out to international mixers to get some feedback and he was the first to get back to us.
``He said he'd love to do it so it has made a difference to have someone who has a genuine interest.
'' The Butterfly Effect will land in Newcastle at the BAR ON THE HILL tomorrow night.
Doors open at 7.30pm.
