The Sum of Punk Metal Plus Hip Hop

Who: Sum 41, Unwritten Law
Where: Newcastle Panthers
When: Sunday October 13, 2002

FOLLOWING the footsteps of their contemporaries BLINK 182, Canadian lads SUM 41 are getting ready to take Newcastle by storm.

The new wave of punk rug rats will perform their only NSW show outside of the LIVID FESTIVAL with a gig in Newcastle next month.

Although relatively new on the scene, the boys from Sum 41 have already achieved massive success around the globe.

With its winning blend of punk, metal and hip hop, Sum 41 rose to fame last year with the release of its debut album ALL KILLER, NO FILLER. Anthems like WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT became instant hits, with the track making its way onto the SPIDERMAN soundtrack.

The band is working on the follow-up to All Killer, No Filler and fans can expect to see the release of the album shortly.

The boys will support one of the world's pioneering punk acts at CLUBNOVA PANTHERS NEWCASTLE on October 13 in an all-ages gig.

Sum 41 will share the stage with UNWRITTEN LAW, who have been part of the punk game for more than 10 years.

The band recently released its latest album ELVA. Tickets to the show went on sale on Monday from the club, THE ROCK SHOP and BEAUMONT STREET BEAT.
