IN every competition there can only be one winner.
When Fanny's hosted the grand final of its 2002 Bartercard Miss Indy Ultimate Sports Model Search on September 27, competition was tough.
A variety of local beauties turned out to take part in the contest, including former Miss Surfest Rebecca Ranclaud.
But it was an 18-year-old Newcastle Knights cheerleader from Holmesville who took out first place in the prestigious competition.
Jennifer Hawkins walked away the winner, displaying all of the characteristics the judges were looking for.
Hawkins shared the majority of a $15,000 prize package and will represent Newcastle at the Australasian final on the Gold Coast at Honda Indy 300 later this month.
First runner-up was Kate Heuttel and second runner-up was Fallon King.
Hawkins seems to be on a winning streak this year, recently earning the Big League Cheerleader of the Year title.
She has adorned the covers of two motoring magazines and will soon appear in Ralph magazine.
