A BIT of confidence never hurt anyone and Agent Green is confident it will be the next big thing to emerge out of Newcastle.

The original four-piece band is recording with Ballistic Records and is anticipating the release of a single and album in coming months.

On March 16, Agent Green's single Whisper will debut on Triple J, introducing the rest of the country to their sound.

Describing themselves as 'a harder rocking Powderfinger', Agent Green is a combination of pounding drums, throbbing bass and melodic guitars.

Made up of Tim Usher, Jules Cross, Scott Bulger and Mark Stitt the band will perform at the Lass O'Gowrie Hotel on March 13 and 16.

Last week, the band attracted a 350-strong crowd to a gig on the Central Coast, proving that their success around Australia looks likely.
