THE hit stage musical Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story will return in a different format this month when Scot Robin presents his stunning tribute to the rock'n'roll legend.

In the past two years, Buddy's Back has performed over 300 shows, including a sell-out Christmas season in Newcastle.

The much-loved show will return for a run of five shows across the Hunter and Lake Macquarie from March 7 to 16.

In 1991, Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story made its Australian debut tour and played to an impressive list of venues including Her Majesty's Theatres in Sydney and Melbourne.

Holly was portrayed by Robin in the successful musical production and he has put together his own show for the first time with some of Sydney's most prominent musicians.

With its fantastic visuals and music, the high-energy performance features stunning costumes and remarkable musicianship.

The two-hour show features over 30 of Buddy Holly's hit songs including That'll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Raining In My Heart, Oh Boy and Rave On. Buddy's Back will perform at ClubNova Cardiff on Thursday, Doyalson Wyee RSL on Friday, Maitland City Bowling Club on Saturday, Muswellbrook Workers Club on March ??? and Toronto Workers Club on March 16.
