Opera fans can look forward to the rescheduled Twilight Opera event at Port Stephens Winery this month.

The opera was originally to be held in November but was postponed because of bad weather.

But on January 19 the show will go ahead and offer features from a number of opera performers and Irish music acts.

Titled A Tribute to Ireland, the opera is the fourth twilight opera production for 4 Seasons Opera. The event will highlight performances from the Youth Opera Singers, the Australian Celtic Singers and Celtic Link. The Celtic Singers will perform traditional songs of the British Isles and Celtic Link will perform the traditional sounds of Ireland.

The main performance for the evening will be delivered by celebrated opera singer Jennifer Barnes. Barnes is one of Australia's premier opera performers and began her career studying in London where she developed her love for opera.

She has since had roles with Opera Hunter, Opera Queensland, Sydney Metropolitan Opera, Sydney Festival and Opera Australia. In 1995, Barnes was awarded a CONDA for her role in the Opera Hunter season of Madama Butterfly. Tickets are available from Port Stephens Winery. Gold tickets are $30 and silver tickets are $20. The show runs from 6pm to 10pm.
