LAST year Deborah Conway gave us stunning renditions of Patsy Cline in the stage show Always ... Patsy Cline. This year another tribute to the legendary country star is being brought to Newcastle starring Female Country Entertainer of the Year Barbara Thompson. Wests Leagues Club will host one performance only of Memories of Patsy Cline on Saturday, March 16.
Much more than a simple tribute show, Memories of Patsy Cline has delighted fans across Australia with its collection of classic Patsy Cline hits.
Thompson performs favourites such as Crazy, Sweet Dreams and Walking After Midnight which evoke vivid memories of the country music star.
The show is highly professional due to Thompson's 30 years of experience performing around Australia.
She has won numerous awards including the Wallace Award for Best Female Country Entertainer of the Year.
Fitting the role of Patsy Cline was easy for Thompson, who has worked alongside major country stars such as Keith Urban, Lee Conway, Smokey Dawson, Ray Kernaghan, Jimmy Little and Jade Hurley. Memories of Patsy Cline features the backing of one of Australia's most lively country bands Southern Steel. Tickets to the show are on sale now and available from Wests Leagues Club.
