STEP back in time this weekend at the Cambridge Hotel when the venue hosts a show dedicated to the swinging sounds of the '50s.
On Saturday night the hotel will welcome Sydney act The Psyclones and Maitland boys Riot to the stage.
The event will bring all of the old sounds to life in a fusion of styles including rock'n'roll, surf and rockabilly.
Getting punters on the floor is the aim of the evening and organiser Brett Deaves hopes the event will become a regular attraction in the future.
The members of three-piece act Riot may still be in high school, but it has already established itself as a must-see live act.
With a diverse blend of rockabilly, psychobilly, punk, rock'n'roll and blues, the band lists its influences as The Stray Cats, The Living End, Elvis Presley and Chuck Berry. Riot is looking forward to sharing the stage with The Psyclones, a band which often performs alongside big names such as The Porkers and The Louisville Sluggers. With their blend of garage punk, rockabilly, country and surf, The Psyclones are sure to get the crowd moving.
Entry to the gig is free and those attending are encouraged to dress in '50s attire.
