Little To Go a Long Way in Marilyn Show

Who: Jeannie Little
Where: Western Suburbs Leagues Club
When: Friday February 22, 2002

SHE has long been the 'darliiiing' of television with her wacky fashion creations and wisecracks.

Jeanne Little will present the life of Marilyn Monroe at Wests Leagues Club on February 22.

Little does not impersonate Monroe, she simply tells her story and performs her songs.

The show tells of Monroe's early years as Norma Jean Baker, the illegitimate Hollywood child who became the sex goddess Marilyn Monroe.

The cabaret-style show features songs such as Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend, I Wanna Be Loved By You, Bye Bye Baby and Heat Wave. Since Little first came to our attention in 1974 on the Mike Walsh Show, she has become one of the most recognisable personalities on television.

She is a regular face on Stan Zemanek's popular talk show Beauty and the Beast. In the past, Little has been a guest on the Ray Martin Show and appeared on the BBC's Michael Parkinson Show where she startled British critics.

She proved her popularity in 1976 when she received the prestigious Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Television Personality.

Her portrayal of Monroe follows her successful five-year stint in the role of Marlene Dietrich in the highly-acclaimed cabaret show Marlene - A Tribute To Dietrich. The show is part of a series of new members only concerts at Wests Leagues Club.

Tickets are $5 and other acts who will perform in the series include Jade Hurley and The Zips.
