STEEL CITY COUNTRY MUSIC CLUB continues to raise money for the 2002 Telethon with a series of gigs.
This week, organisers have planned a special gig dubbed SONGWRITERS OF THE NORTH, which will see a swarm of local and national country stars live on stage.
Featuring CAROL DONOVAN, DONELLA PLANE, ROSS MCGREGOR, GRAHAME BYRNE and MEL SOMMERS, the event is sure to be a treat for country music fans.
To be held at CLUB MACQUARIE on Sunday from 2pm, proceeds from the show will go towards the Telethon appeal.
Local stars will be joined by Australian country legend CRAIG GILES (pictured), who has recently released his new single titled BETTER BACK UP. The track is taken from his forthcoming album.
Giles began his career in country music 15 years ago after winning the SEARCH FOR A STAR QUEST in Wagga Wagga.
He then went on to become a grand finalist in the TAMWORTH AUSTRALASIAN STAR MAKER QUEST and released his debut EP COUNTRY MUSIC MAN. This led to numerous tours around the country with stars such as LEE KERNAGHAN and a string of awards including Most Popular Act, Best Country Male Entertainer, Most Popular Australian Recording Artist and a place in the Australian Country Music Hands of Fame.
