Great Name, Great Band if You Like Jazz

A LOT of fabulous jazz bands have come out of Newcastle and one of the best has to be Makin' Whoopee. The three-piece group has made quite an impression on the Newcastle wedding and function circuit with their cheeky and charming style.

Makin' Whoopee is looking forward to performing two shows at Club Nova for the Masters Games in October.

Meanwhile the band will get acquainted with the audience at Pippi's at the Point on Sunday. The group perform a combination of jazz styles from Swing to Latin, as well as adding blues, soul and rock'n'roll, guaranteeing to get the crowd dancing.

The band is made up of Renee Berger on lead vocals, Damien Watson on guitars and pianist Phil Tweed. The group has been known to increase by up to four additional members.
