COUNTRY music sensation Gina Jeffreys will headline the main concert at the Steel City Country Music Awards this weekend.
The festival will feature many big-name country acts and local artists as well as young upcoming stars who will perform for the chance to win a scholarship to Tamworth's Country Music College.
The festival will also raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation and organisers hope to raise at least $15,000.
The festival will be held at Club Macquarie from Friday to Sunday and bring together musicians from across the State to perform in the club's first State championships.
The final of the competition will be held on Saturday night and feature a special appearance by Australian storyteller Ted Egan. Tickets to the show are $10 and bookings can be made by calling Club Macquarie on 4958-7033.
The main concert starring Gina Jeffreys will begin at 3pm on Sunday and it is rumoured that Kasey Chambers, Rick Price, Adam Harvey or Beccy Cole may join Jeffreys on stage.
Tickets to the show are $15 and bookings are essential.
The festival will also mark a new beginning with the introduction of the Soles of Country Music. The first inductees will be Gina Jeffreys, Rod McCormick and the winner of the championship. The event will take place at 2pm.
