THE Gallipoli Legion Club will showcase some of Newcastle's most talented young musicians on Friday night in an acoustic performance.

The Echelon Music Acoustic Lounge will feature solo artists Brooke Harvey and Trent Grenell and duo Brown. Headlining the show is acoustic duo Deep Elem which is made up of Joel Robinson and Louis Lissarrague. The duo uses two guitars and fuses its unique sound with influences from jazz, blues and rock.

The group has regularly performed in local pubs and clubs and worked as far afield as Armidale.

Its evocative lyrics and original music have earned it a legion of local fans over the past 12 months who have become big followers of the virtuoso style.

Apart from original material, the duo performs a range of covers in its repertoire.

The pair has recorded original material with Glen Dormand of Machine Gun Fellatio and recently recorded original material at the studios of Les Hall from Ted Mulry Gang fame.

The show will be held in the club's Emerald Room from 8pm and entry is $5.
