Who: The Shuffle Kings
Where: Club Phoenix
Author: Debra Killalea
When: Sunday June 10, 2001

DYNAMIC and diverse, the Shuffle Kings are fine tuning their instruments in preparation for their performance at Club Phoenix this Sunday.

The band, which is renowned for its acoustic and vocal talents, will wow audiences with its wide range of songs and style.

The music incorporates elements of big band swing, 50s jump, rhythm and blues, rockabilly and even some elements of classic rock and roll.

Formed more than four years ago, the guys have built a strong reputation for themselves touring nationally with their blend of original and standard hits.

The group performs a variety of hits, from Jailhouse Rock and Shake, Rattle and Roll. Fans will also like the fact that the talented quartet can adapt to play two instruments at the same time, a feat necessary in order to stay a four-piece band.

The gang doesn't use any amplification, and combined with their creative talents and natural enthusiasm, it makes an entertaining performance.
