AFTER a successful run with The Wizard of Oz Show, Young Stars Production have developed a new creation of the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast. The group will hold two performances next month at ClubNova Newcastle and ClubNova Cardiff on July 12.
The group's adaptation of the classic fairy tale has taken a modern slant and incorporates modern songs, jokes and magical effects.
Director Brian Laul said he chose the popular tale as the subject of his latest interactive children's show for a particular reason.
'The story of Beauty and the Beast gives off the right vibes of hope and love, so it's important for children and young people in today's world.
'It also helps us understand that true beauty really lies within.'
The show features colourful costumes, dramatic sets and a studio soundtrack featuring a 23-piece orchestra.
Mr Laul encourages children to attend the show dressed as a fairy or pixie for a photo opportunity with Beauty, Big Bird, Teapot and Candelabra after the show.
Mr Laul remained tight-lipped about a big surprise which he promised would take place during the show's quirky ending.
'Look out for it. Believe us, it's something you will never, ever expect.'
Proceeds from the show will benefit the Make-A-Wish foundation.
TE has three double passes to giveaway to either show. Enter online at www.nnp.com.au or send an envelope to Beauty and the Beast Giveaway with your name, address and phone number on the back to PO Box 615, Newcastle 2300.
