AFTER postponing a series of shows earlier this year, Australia's favourite funny man Carl Barron will finally arrive in the Hunter to get the crowds laughing.
Barron has become one of Australia's most loved comedians for his immature but irresistible sense of humour since he was named comic of the year in 1993.
Barron recently returned from an extensive international tour and has previously performed as far and wide as New York, London, Edinburgh, Montreal and Auckland.
He is best recognised from his numerous appearances on popular variety shows such as Hey Hey It's Saturday, The Midday Show and The Footy Show, on which he has appeared 30 times.
Barron's big international break came in 1998 when he was flown to the Edinburgh Comedy Festival where he was chosen to perform on Edinburgh's Comedy Showcase.
In the past year, Barron has performed sell-out shows at the Adelaide Fringe and Melbourne Comedy festivals, where he was chosen to appear at the Montreal Comedy Festival.
Barron made his mark in the US at The Comic Strip in New York and at The Boston Comedy Club, which has hosted comedians including Billy Crystal, Jerry Seinfeld and Adam Sandler.
Before the end of the year Barron plans to tour the UK, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and New Zealand.
Barron will bring his Just Muckin' Round tour to Kurri Kurri Bowling Club on July 31, Singleton RSL on August 1, Wests Leagues Club on August 2, Belmont 16 Footers on August 3, Hexham Bowling Club on August 4 and Muswellbrook Workers on August 5.
TE has 12 passes to give away to the Belmont, Hexham and Wests shows. Enter online at www.nnp.com.au or send an envelope with your name, address and phone number on the back to PO Box 615, Newcastle, 2300.
