LAKE Cathie blues band GHOST ROAD will be less travelled over the next 12 months. Guitarist and vocalist BEAU BENNETT will take the high road to Europe to travel for 12 months after Easter, leaving his guitarist and vocalist brother STEVE BENNETT, bass playing father ROSS BENNETT and drummer BRODIE YONON to continue alone. Ghost Road will perform on Saturday, February 3, and Saturday, March 10, at the Nag's Head, Beau's last gig for a year.
HIP HOP:
CANBERRA hip hop exponents TERIYAKI GRANDCHILD will spice up the stage at The Cambridge Hotel on Friday, February 2, with Newcastle's HEAD POPPIN FATTNESS. Teriyaki Grandchild is in Newcastle to record its second album with Newcastle engineer MARK TINSON. The new album is seen as a fresh direction for the band after a successful 2000, which saw them play the PEPSI SZIGET FESTIVAL in Budapest, Hungary with some of the world's largest acts such as OASIS, BAD RELIGION, BLOODHOUND GANG and APOLLO 440.
