Williamson Waltzes In

Who: John Williamson
Where: Cessnock Supporters Club
When: Friday March 23, 2001

AFTER a hectic Tamworth Country Music Festival and a visit to Canada, John Williamson is about to hit the road again primarily taking in the Hunter.

He will play at Cessnock Supporters Club on March 23, Mingara Recreational Club on March 24, Club Nova Newcastle on March 25, Muswellbrook Workers Club on March 27 and Maitland City Bowling Club on March 28.

Last year Williamson found himself in front of some huge crowds, being included at the start of the Olympic opening ceremony singing Waltzing Matilda and performing before the Bledisloe Cup.

After the Olympics, Williamson undertook his fourth tour of the United Kingdom, playing to over 3000 people in 10 venues.

Straight after the Tamworth festival he flew to Ottawa in Canada as Australia's representative at the giant Winterlude Festival, which is attended by about 3million people over a three-week period.

In his career Williamson has released 24 albums and eight videos, collected 18 golden guitars at the Australian Country Music Association Awards and been featured in three television series, including This Is Your Life.
