NATHAN Ranclaud believes there is a lack of comedy and punk music in Newcastle and has chosen to do something about it.
Pay TV Show, the new venture by the first-time organiser, will be at the Cambridge Hotel on Friday night and feature a number of local punk ska bands and routines from budding local comedians.
'I love the stand-up comedian thing and I want to get that a bit more mainstream in Newcastle,' Nathan said. 'It's just something different.'
Nine-piece group Rubix Cuba will kick off at 8.30pm with a style that Nathan compares to the swinging sounds of The Louisville Sluggers. Also on the bill is Draw The Line, 9 Ways Down, Powderkeg, Riot and Deep 6. Entry is $5 and tickets will be available at the door.
