Creeping Jesus Hits Big Time

Who: Creeping Jesus
Where: Hunter on Hunter
Author: Jade Lazarevic
When: Saturday August 25, 2001

Fresh from supporting Frenzal Rhomb and The Celibate Rifles, Creeping Jesus is preparing to support Superheist at a huge all-age gig in Sydney next month.

The concert will come just two days after the group supports fellow Novocastrians The Porkers at Bathurst University.

The group are celebrating after recruiting Scott Leighton as their new booking agent and being signed to a three album deal with Japanese-based Reign Records. As well as having their tracks described as 'minute-and-a-half messages' by radio guru Richard Kingsmill, the group has also attracted attention from critics overseas.

A UK reviewer from RR Magazine said their debut album was 'crunchy fast hardcore punk, played so well it's difficult to believe they've only been around for less than a year'.

The boys will perform at the Hunter On Hunter on Saturday night.

For those keen to get their hands on Creeping Jesus and Chinchen memorabilia, get along to Rumours Warehouse, which now boasts a Reign Records store.
