Nothing is better than a real rock and roll band.

Rock and roll fans in Cessnock will have the chance to catch talented rockers Quaan when they perform at Cessnock Ex-Services Club on Friday night.

Quaan have impressed audiences throughout the Hunter region with their energetic shows since their formation four years ago.

The group say they got together for the sole purpose of entertaining the masses and giving the audience a '100% plus' performance.

The extensive repertoire of tracks covered by the guys is what generates an atmosphere of excitement while still delivering a high-quality show.

Each member of Quaan is local to Newcastle, but each has spread their talents both nationally and internationally.

Members of the group have performed on Christmas Island and as far as the US.

Professionalism and a passion for music is what has seen the continuation of success for the group.

Not only is their sound kind on the ears, but they have proved themselves to be a dynamic visual band.

Troy Ravlen delivers the soaring vocals for the group and the rhythm guitar, Tony Coomber plays guitar, Darrin Sparx plays bass and Michael Britt is on drums.

Artists covered by the group include Matchbox 20, Beastie Boys, Neil Diamond, The Living End, Lenny Kravitz, INXS, Foo Fighters, Blink 182, Blur, Smash Mouth, Hoodoo Gurus and Van Morrison
