LAST month's big finale of the inaugural Bundy Band Challenge at The Castle saw a diverse range of local acts line up to take out the honour of first place.
From rock to pop to the zany sounds of Strength To Strength , each group had a good chance of success.
Three-piece pop rock act The Good took out first place, with Lemington Road taking out the popularity vote.
Schlauncher, Strength To Strength and Eleven Eleven also gave great performances and proved popular.
With Gareth Hudson on lead guitar and vocals, Dean Gearing on drums and Heather Barnes on bass and vocals, The Good were clear winners.
'I thought it was pretty good competition but I wasn't really surprised to win,' Hudson said.
'There were a lot of good bands there and any band could of won.'
The Good were awarded $20,000 in prizes, including $5000 cash, a recording session with producer Mark Tinson and a new set of instruments.
Hudson said the group had since started jamming with a potential new member, who will play saxophone and keyboards.
The Good hope to begin work recording their EP in the next couple of months.
The Good will perform at the Delany Hotel on Saturday night.
