TWO successful Newcastle performers Vince Martinelli and Rita Scott have combined to form successful duo, Wine and Roses. The duo have been billed as a 'uniquely dynamic and versatile entertainment package' and has backed this up with performances at a variety of venues.

Their music ranges from easy-listening to 'get down and party'.

The duo is in demand all over the state at clubs, pubs and corporate functions.

They boast the ability to deliver high quality music for any occasion with each performance tailored to provide the 'right vibe'.

Martinelli, who shares the vocal responsibilities with Scott, is well-known and respected for his guitar exploits around the region as the winner of an Australian Government scholarship to study guitar at the Centro Romano della Gittarra in Italy.

Martinelli is often requested for session and studio work on electric and Spanish guitars and has been invited to perform on various Australian recordings including the musical Tutankhamen. He has performed with both national and international acts including Jon English, Marcia Hines, Demis Roussos, Des O'Conner and as supporting artist for the internationally acclaimed, Shirley Bassey. Rita Scott plays saxophone and percussion and is regarded by many as one of Australia's finest singers.

With a special love of jazz, Rita is in constant demand for session work in radio, film and television.

She has accepted special invitations to perform as a supporting artist for jazz legend Chick Corea and Australian rock giants INXS. Scott has also appeared with Ricky May and Jackie Love. Wine and Roses will perform on Saturday at the Cricketers Arms, at the Oakvale Winery on Saturday and Sunday, April 14 at Wyong Leagues Club and Nelson Bay RSL on April 21.

Martinelli can be found at Wests Leagues Club every Thursday night.
