TAMWORTH Country Starmaker winner LYN BOWTELL will perform her hit song HEADED SOUTH, and her Starmaker single THE ONE YOU LOVE, on Sunday night at Phoenix.
In the past 18 months Bowtell and her band Southern Steel have established themselves as a major attraction at festivals such as Tamworth, Mildura and the Gympie Muster.
In 1997, Headed South became a Top 10 hit on the Australian country charts.
The One You Love also earned Bowtell a COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS OF AUSTRALIA award.
SEARCHING FOR JANE, written by Bowtell and songwriting partner MARGIE MASON, won the 'new songwriter section' at the Tamworth Songwriters Awards during the 1998 Tamworth Country Music Festival.
The same song also won the female vocal section of the 1998 VICTORIAN COUNTRY MUSIC AWARDS. This year Bowtell released her ACMEC label debut HEARTS IN THE COUNTRY. TE
