MEMBERS of Brisbane band PRETTY VIOLET STAIN were originally Unearthed by TRIPLE J. But by the time it had released the MONEY'S RIGHT EP, the group had shed its 'hard, angsty teenage edge' in favour of melodies and strong songs.
Vocalist guitarist SHANE NICHOLSON said: 'We wanted to make a record like the ones that we love, something that's built to last'. With guitarist NATHAN LOCKWOOD, bass player SCOTT RUTHERFORD and drummer BRAD TAYLOR the band went on to release its major label debut in March 2000.
That CD PARACHUTES & GRAVITY is marked by 'soaring, sing-a-long choruses' such as the first single TALK. The band hits the stage at DOGBITE 2000 this Saturday at 2.30pm.
