WITH CHAIRMAN OF THE BOARD and CRIMINAL PAST, from their debut self-titled EP, both given high rotation on TRIPLE J it seems MOTOR ACE is well placed to take out the premier title of STYLE WARS 2000. Style Wars, which hits the University of Newcastle tomorrow night, is a bit of friendly rivalry between label mates drummed up by SPUTNIK RECORDS. Other bands on the bill include 28 DAYS whose latest single SUCKER debuted at number one on the ARIA alternative charts and number 21 on the ARIA mainstream charts.
Also on the bill is NOKTURNL, a three-piece from Alice Springs, who recently supported TUMBLEWEED at The Cambridge Hotel.
NOKTURNL scored a spot at this year's BIG DAY OUT on the strength of a demo (the first time this has ever happened) and the single NEVA MIND went on to gain high TRIPLE J rotation.
Their video Neva Mind was also named RIPE CLIP OF THE WEEK on CHANNEL V.
