THINGS are heating up at the Mayfield Ex-Services Club as heat three of the Miss Calendar Girl Australia competition turns the temperature up another notch.
Some of the region's most beautiful girls will compete in heats held over the next few weeks, culminating in the grand final on April 13.
Heat three will be held on Thursday March 2, semi-finals start on March 23.
The publishers of the Official Australian Swimsuit Calendar are searching the nation for 14 girls to star in next year's picture-perfect edition.
More than 1500 girls are expected to compete for the 14 spots, finalists win a 10-day holiday to Mackay, where they will take part in a photo shoot.
The photos will be used in the calendar, each finalist featured with her own month.
The calendars will go on sale in August and the public will be invited to vote for their favourite girl.
The girl with the most votes will be crowned Miss Calendar Girl Australia 2001.
