Hip-hopsters Advised to Hit the Cambridge to Hear Sistah Cypher

HOT on the heels of their debut at Cultural Stomp earlier this month, contemporary hip hop act SISTAH CYPHER will perform for MIS-ADVENTURE at the Cambridge Hotel this Friday night.

Sistah Cypher combines contemporary hip-hop styles with spoken word performances from MC TREY (pictured), MAYA JUPITER and PHOENIX. Organiser JANE FARRAH said proceeds from Friday night's show would go towards 'promoting women in the arts'.

'All three MCs come from diverse cultural backgrounds and sing about relevant social issues,' she said.

Sistah Cypher is featured on FIRST WORDS, a collaborative album from the MOTHER TONGUES label, which releases material from emerging female MCs.

Other acts on the night will include Newcastle DJs FIONA K, LOU and FAITH, with Sydney DJ GROOVY D. Tickets are $8. TE
