SOME things shouldn't be messed with, and great rock'n'roll music is one of them.
Listen to the sounds coming from ICE CREAM HANDS and you will realise that great pop music should always have lyrics with substance, unforgettable melodies and arrangements that are always unpredictable.
Melbourne's Ice Cream Hands, playing at SJ's Hotel on Friday, produce great pop music and believe some things shouldn't be messed with either.
Lead singer and songwriter CHUCK JENKINS explained the band's approach to recording SWEETER THAN THE RADIO was in the great rock'n'roll tradition.
'We recorded at Hothouse (Studios, Melbourne) because they use two-inch tape,' he said.
'We figured that before join everyone else in the world, sitting in front of their computers with Pro Tools and a cup of coffee, let's get a couple of stiff drinks into us and shout over the top of the hum coming from the console.'
Ice Cream Hands can also swing it live, so don't miss this show.
TE has two copies of SWEETER THAN THE RADIO to give away.
To go in the draw mail an envelope, with your name, address and telephone number on the back, to ICE CREAM HANDS GIVEAWAY, PO Box 615, Newcastle, 2300.
