Fruitcake for Singles

NEWCASTLE'S hottest new cabaret band FRUITCAKE will provide the musical backdrop to this Friday night's CONNECTIONS function at Phoenix.

The fortnightly party for singles at the Industrial Drive, Mayfield, club is proving a hit for singles keen to break the ice with others in the mood for socialising.

Fruitcake features KIM ZECHEN, AMY VEE and MEL MCGREGOR, former members of THE ULTIMATE FREAK OUT, DIZI, THE WHISPERING JACK SHOW and 1-800. The group covers music from the 1960s to the 1990s.

Members of the backing band are guitarist PHIL BELLAMY, bass player CHRIS LEE and drummer BRAD ELLIOT. While the punters are mingling Connections' winged resident 'Cupid', facilitates meetings with party-goers. TE
