POPULAR American cartoon character BARNEY THE DINOSAUR will perform two shows at Newcastle and Cardiff workers clubs next week.
Joining Barney on stage will be his 'new Australian friends' THE GIGALEES. Wilma and Daisy, from the Gigalees, sing, dance and juggle, mixing acrobatics, vaudeville and comedy into their act, with their colourful friend JACK THE DUCK, 'the best dancing duck in the world'.
In the show a compere called NERIDA NO FRIENDS has lost her friends.
When she finds Barney, Jack and 'The Gigalees', the group spends a fun-filled 50 minutes singing, dancing and playing games together.
Audiences are encouraged to join in with Barney as he teaches children his actions and movements. Some children are invited on stage and will have the chance to win prizes.
The children's shows will be performed at the Newcastle Workers Club on Thursday, January 20, at 10am, and the Cardiff Workers Club on the same day at 2.30pm.
Doors open 30 minutes before both shows. Tickets are $8.50 for adults and children older than 18 months.
