Single-minded Bachelors in Need of Love

Who: The Bachelors
Where: Newcastle Panthers
When: Wednesday August 2, 2000

A 10-YEAR lay-off and a line-up change later, THE BACHELORS are on their way to the Newcastle Workers Club with the RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR and their unique sound.

THE BACHELORS WITH JOHN STOKES have performed to sell out crowds throughout the United Kingdom and are set to rekindle their love affair with fans in the rest of the world.

JOHN STOKES with brother CON and DEC CLUSKEY formed The Bachelors, one of the 60s most successful recording groups who in the five years between 1963 and 1967 showed in the British Charts for a massive 187 weeks, a feat only surpassed by THE BEATLES. The group disbanded in 1984, giving Stokes what he describes as, 'an opportunity to kick start the act again and bring back those melodic tunes that were so popular with audiences throughout the world.'

In 1994 Stokes decided to reignite The Bachelors, enlisting the expertise of Jonathan Young and Kevin Neill.

The Bachelors with John Stokes will perform all their hits from albums such as RENAISSANCE as well as new arrangements of popular standards tonight at the Newcastle Workers Club. TE
