AUSTRALIAN country music icon SLIM DUSTY will perform tonight at Mayfield Ex-Services Club, not the Newcastle Workers Club as reported in TE last week.
The wrong date was found at an official web site and published in good faith. TE regrets any inconvenience caused to readers.
But country music fans still have two chances to catch Slim in the Hunter this week.
As well as tonight's show at Mayfield, Slim and his band will perform tomorrow night at Maitland City Bowling Club.
Born DAVID GORDON KIRKPATRICK, Slim Dusty was conceived as a stage name when the budding singer, songwriter and performer was still a teenager.
This year, more than 40 years later, Slim has released album number 100, LOOKING FORWARD AND LOOKING BACK, which he describes as 'songs about real Australians'.
'I have to be fair dinkum with my audience,' he says.
'You have to believe in what you are singing about.' TE
