Music Town Pub kicks off Festival

What: Musofest
Where: Museum Hotel
Author: Anthony Scully
When: Saturday November 27, 1999

PUNTERS at West Wallsend love their music and, according to the publican of the Museum Hotel, it's because many of the people who live there are musicians themselves.

To recognise that fact, and to mark their first year in the pub, publicans KRISTIN and LEW BASS have organised MUSOFEST, which will feature 15 bands from midday on Saturday and 10 stalls.

'It's a very musically oriented community,' Kristin said.

'There's a lot of musos out here and a lot of support for the music.'

The hotel runs a muso's jam session on the first Sunday of every month, as well as live bands every Friday and Sunday nights.

Most Saturday nights the hotel is booked with private parties.
