Morpeth festival ENTERTAINER SU CRUICKSHANK will feature at the 'concert in the park' at the 1999 MORPETH JAZZ FESTIVAL on Sunday.
The concert is at Morpeth football oval on Sunday, May 23 from 10am to 5pm.
Organised by MORPETH BOWLING CLUB, it is being held for the first time and will offer locals and tourists another attraction at the popular festival, which is expected to draw up to 30,000 people.
The festival begins on Saturday, May 22, with entertainment LEE GUNNESS, GEOFF BULL, & THE OLYMPIA JAZZ BAND, JOHNNY NICOL & NEVILLE URE, BOB HENDERSON'S ALLSTARS, JIVE BOMBERS, RHYTHM KINGS, TAILGATE JAM, MELANGE, LITTLE TOOT and MAITLAND CITY BRASS BAND. Morpeth Bowling Club secretary-manager, GREG LUCK, said the Sunday concert was expanding the annual festival.
He said there would be buses throughout the day transporting jazz enthusiasts from the concert to events along Swan St.
Performing on Sunday will be the FUNKY DO DAS from 10am, the COOL DUDES from 12.30, SU CRUICKSHANK from 2pm to 3pm, PAUL GRIFFITH at 3pm and LISA KINNA at 4pm.
Wyndham Estate will offer wine tasting throughout the day at Morpeth Bowling Club.
A $5 admission fee gets you entry into all events at the jazz festival, Mr Luck said.
Every entry ticket is in a draw to win a trip to Canada.
Mr Luck said East Maitland Lions Club has organised a jazz dinner at the Morpeth Bowling Club for May 22.
Tickets are $30 each for a three-course meal and entertainment by LISA KINNA and TIGER PETE. TE
