MAITLAND'S MUZZY PEP, playing tomorrow night at SJ's Hotel, earned high praise last month from renowned talent spotter JOHNNY YOUNG. Along with Newcastle's THE PORKERS, Muzzy Pep were among 13 groups asked to perform the old YOUNG TALENT TIME signature tune, ALL MY LOVING, for Young's new CAVALCADE OF STARS music show on pay-TV channel TV1. Young told THE NEWCASTLE HERALD last month that he was 'impressed' with Muzzy Pep's version.

'It's sort of BEATLE-esque,' he said, commenting that he was sure they'd 'get a big national (recording) deal'.

'They've got everything - looks wise and sound wise - to be a really big deal,' Young said.

A CD, ALL OUR LOVING, due out next month will feature the songs and bands selected will feature in clips at the end of the show.

Tomorrow night's SJ's gig will be with LIQUAFACTION and fellow DOGBITE starters ARMY OF PRAWNS. Also playing Dogbite are CUSTARD, POLLYANNA, VIOLETENE, ESKIMO JOE, PRESHRUNK, ENDORPHIN, CHIN CHEN, AUDIOPHILE, PURPLENE and THE CLOKWORK CORPORATION
