More Than Just an Afterthought

FROM the embers of underground Newcastle bands EL NINO, SANDPAPER and STAUNCH is spawned THE AFTERTHOUGHTS. A four-piece, guitar-driven, heavy, melodic-sounding band, the music offers 'political, environmental and social stands'.

Formed late last year, the band played its first gig in February and has since played in most Newcastle venues and donated many hours to THE SURFRIDER FOUNDATION and THE WILDERNESS SOCIETY. The band will launch its six-track demo CD titled BURGERS AND BULLETS on June 30 at the Hunter on Hunter.

Along with news of the band's CD release comes news it has been chosen as one of the support bands for SILVERCHAIR at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre on July 31.

STRENGTH TO STRENGTH and ARMY OF PRAWNS are also among the bands to support SILVERCHAIR.
