FEROCIOUS electro-rock band PRIMARY will turn on its intense dance music at The Cambridge Hotel on Saturday, January 30, with special guests VAPOURWARE and CHIN CHEN. Led by the striking stage presence and strong vocals of 20-year-old CONNIE MITCHELL, Primary gained notoriety in the music industry last year when it unleashed its in-your-face techno-dance grooves on punters.
The release of the band's debut single VICIOUS PRECIOUS last year was followed with constant touring as support for THE MAVIS' and UK act ARKLANA plus regular gigs in regional venues.
Vicious Precious was nominated for BEST DEBUT SINGLE at the 1998 ARIA AWARDS, and its regular airplay helped build up a solid audience.
Two further singles released late last year, an overhauled instrumental from the Vicious EP, BRAZILIAN, and THIS IS THE SOUND both won high rotation on TRIPLE J and 3RRR. With live television gigs on HEY HEY IT'S SATURDAY to MCFEAST, plus strong shows at the SYDNEY HOMEBAKE FESTIVAL, GLENWORTH VALLEY 98, and THE FALLS FESTIVAL, VICTORIA, Primary has earned a place within the ranks of Australia's up-and-coming new talents.
Punters anticipating the forthcoming debut album, THIS IS THE SOUND, due for release in April, can catch Primary at The Cambridge Hotel on January 30.
In light of the previous cancelled gigs at this venue by Chin Chen, due to illness, punters are assured the Newcastle band will definitely be playing this gig.
