AUDIENCES are asking for more original songs from CRIMSON TIDE and that's what the band is going to give them early next year, according to bass player SALLY WILSON. First the group has to find the time, in between Wednesday residencies at The Castle and Thursdays fortnightly at The Cambridge. The group will perform tomorrow night at The Cambridge and Friday night at the Mayfield Hotel. Crimson Tide includes CHEREE BRADSHAW on vocals, PAULA MAC on guitar and DARREN PALMER on drums.
ACOUSTICA: FORMER Newcastle singer-songwriter LUKE VASSELLA, now based in Lismore, will perform for the Acoustic Cafe at The Star Hotel tomorrow night. Copies of his latest EP FOR NOW have all but sold out, thanks to live solo gigs between the North Coast and south to Melbourne. A tune from For Now called WHERE'S THE SOUL GONE won Vassella a DOLPHIN music award for Male Vocalist of the Year recently, an annual awards event for musicians based between Grafton and Murwillumbah. Vassella, who moved to Lismore to complete his musical studies at Southern Cross University, performs acoustic rock with guitar and stomp box. Vassella will take to the stage at 9.30pm.
FEST SELLOUT: TICKETS to THE FALLS FESTIVAL in Victoria have sold out. There will definitely be no tickets available at the gates of the New Year's Eve festival on Victoria's surf coast featuring the VIOLENT FEMMES and THE TEA PARTY among others. But there are still tickets to GLENWORTH VALLEY, December 27 and 28, west of Gosford, where The Tea Party are playing their only NSW show.
