SINGER guitarist NICOLE BROPHY is a mover and shaker who has made the most of all the opportunities the Australian entertainment industry has to offer budding young performers.
Playing this Sunday at Phoenix at 5pm, Brophy has travelled the country music festival circuit, honing her skills as a performer by winning many talent quests along the way.
For two years running she was a featured soloist at the COCA COLA SCHOOLS SPECTACULAR held at the Sydney Entertainment Centre in 1997 and 1998.
In 1997 she contributed a track to the ABC compilation album THE OPEN ROAD which resulted in a nomination for Best New Talent at the Victorian Country Music Awards.
Brophy also won a $2000 grant from the NESCAFE BIG BREAK AWARDS which recognises and encourages young talent.
As a graduate from the first AUSTRALIAN COLLEGE OF COUNTRY MUSIC held in Tamworth she was featured on a promotional CD recorded at the course.
She also completed the 1998 BONDI WAVE contemporary music course which involved workshops in songwriting, arranging and individual instrument tuition, which culminated in concerts.
